Overview:
Rebounding of global car sales had a positive impact on the global TCU market with all players witnessing YoY growth during H22019-H22020 period. LG TCU shipment had a relatively slower growth due to slower than expected revival for GM. Harman TCU shipments saw a considerable growth during the period, reaching close to 2.5M, benefited by growing sales of Mercedes Benz and BMW. Continental’s growth was more in line with the industry due to a more balanced portfolio spread across many automakers. 5G connected car sales reached around 40,000 units. It is estimated that one in four connected cars sold in 2025 will be 5G enabled.
