Overview:
India Smartphone Market is estimated to decline by 6% in 2020 as due to COVID-19 pandemic. In a measure to control the pandemic, Indian Government imposed a lockdown on the country in March which was opened gradually starting from June.
As the country started to go adjust from "Lockdown" to "Unlock" we saw the saw the smartphone market recovering faster than expected as the pent-up demand came into play. Newer use-cases like remote learning and work-from home also aided the pent up demand. The Smartphone market bounced back with the biggest quarter ever of 53mn units as brand shipped to fulfill demand and fill the market before the festive season.
