Overview:
T-Mobile posted very strong Q4 2022 results on February 1 in terms of new postpaid phone additions, with 927,000 new customers. Prepaid net additions were down 49% YoY in Q4 2022 but remained almost flat at -1% for the full year. Meanwhile, prepaid sales during the quarter declined as customers felt the pinch of inflationary pressures on their household incomes. T-Mobile had another strong high-speed internet quarter, with 524,000 net fixed wireless access (FWA) additions. This brings T-Mobile’s FWA total net additions to 2 million for 2022 and overall subscribers to 2.6 million. In 2023, T-Mobile is likely to continue to lead the industry in terms of subscriber gains on the back of its robust mid-band network.
