Alternative Operating Systems – Breaking the iOS / Android Monopoly

One of the questions we were frequently asked at MWC was regarding the prospects for alternative mobile operating systems.The motivation for this question is coming from a general view that the battle for operating system dominance has been won. We even titled our recent webinar along these lines.

However through discussions with different industry players we have analysed the prospects for different ecosystems to form a perspective on where the industry is headed over the next few years as we shift from a smartphone-centric world to one in which multiple smart devices will find their place with the smartphone being just one, albeit a pivotal one, of many connected devices
