China’s ‘Two Sessions’: Spotlight on Supply Chain Resilience and Next-Gen Technologies

Apr 2, 2021 | Author : Yang Wang

Overview:

A lot of recent media attention has focused on China’s tech policies, as the fractures in the global trading system, technology space and geopolitics continue to widen.

The annual ‘Two Sessions’ of the National People’s Congress (NPC) and the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), where policy makers pass important legislations for the year, were held in early March. This year’s sessions coincide with the beginning of the 14th ‘Five-Year Plan’, as well as a renewed focus on several science and technology fronts.

This report provides a deep-dive of China’s tech policies in the changing environment, as envisioned in the various working reports of the two sessions.
