The global smartphone market grew 20% YoY but declined by around 10% QoQ to reach 354.9 million units in Q1 2021. China showed the biggest YoY growth (37%) due to a low base point driven by the early COVID-19 outbreak last year. India’s smartphone shipments grew 23% YoY to reach over 38 million units in Q1 2021. These were India’s highest ever first-quarter shipments. Samsung shipped 76.6 million units, up 31% YoY and 23% QoQ.
